Job summary

Herc Rentals in Houston seeks a Safety Manager to lead regional safety programs, investigate incidents, and coordinate training for employees and customers. You will drive corrective actions, conduct annual safety evaluations, and partner with operations for safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field, progress toward AA/AS or BA/BS.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental and transportation laws and regulations.
• Experience with problem-solving methodologies and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Supports the branch staff to evaluate their safety program, develop corrective action plans, and carry out/follow-up action plans.
• Assists the region at all levels with preparation and delivery of formal and informal safety training to Herc Rentals employees and customers at customer locations.
• Motivate and develop field personnel to sustain Herc Rentals’ safety programs across scope of operation.
• Supports Operations Management’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and expected performance of program.
• Manages and communicates Regulatory Agency inspections or site visits to Senior Leadership.
• Conducts/Coordinates annual Location Safety Evaluations, prepares detailed reports, assists location management with action plan development and conducts follow-up actions until complete.
• Evaluates and conducts employee incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Liaison with internal departments or external authorities; assists audits and remedial actions.
• Assists in safety requirements at location startups.
• Develops personal and professional skills through ongoing training.
