Job summary

SP+ in Houston seeks a Field Safety Manager to lead regional safety programs, reduce claims, and coordinate with Corporate Safety. You will analyze risks, conduct hazard assessments, and manage the SmartDrive telematics initiative while delivering targeted training and safety metrics throughout the region.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in safety or related field and 4+ years of safety experience, with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Occupational Safety or related field or equivalent
• 4+ years of safety & health compliance experience or equivalent operational experience required
• Creative thinker with ability to translate complex ideas into actionable recommendations
• Ability to analyze workplace incidents and suggest preventive methods
• Skilled at obtaining and processing information and providing actionable feedback
• Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google software applications

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SP+ safety policies and regulations
• Analyze risk information to identify trends, develop programs, and evaluate performance
• Serve as day-to-day safety resource for designated region
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments and advise senior management
• Track and analyze ongoing safety data and provide metrics
• Manage regional vehicle telematics initiative (SmartDrive)
• Develop and deliver safety and health training
• Share incident information across the region
• Conduct site reviews of accident scenes and report findings
• Improve regional safety knowledge and skills
• Promote regional safety initiatives and policies
• Track regional claims and produce reports
• Ensure all regional employees complete safety training
