Job summary

A leading construction safety firm is seeking a qualified Safety Manager to provide safety support and training for associates. Responsibilities include conducting safety orientations, maintaining safety records, and participating in safety meetings. The ideal candidate should have over 4 years of industrial safety experience, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and possess certifications in First Aid and safety management. Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years industrial safety field experience.
• Certified in Basic First-aid, CPR, and AED use trained.
• Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST) or similar certification preferred.
• CSST or COSS certification preferred.
• Able to use MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of hazards associated with the areas served.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site-specific safety orientation.
• Maintain job site safety recordkeeping.
• Participate in job safety analysis and toolbox meetings.
• Review Job Safety Analysis for accuracy.
• Report incidents to management.
• Monitor safety progress at the work site.
• Lead safety meetings and monitor progress on site.
• Escort to occupational medicine; follow OSHA principles.

Job description

The Position:

We are looking for a Safety Manager with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce for the Conesville, Ohio area. This position provides safety support and training to ISC associates, monitors, and assists with safety recordkeeping and safety activities for a jobsite. Applicants should have the ability to:

• Conduct site specific safety orientation with ISC associates and subcontractors when first arriving to the site.
• Maintain jobsite safety recordkeeping.
• Proactively seek out good mitigation measures and controls to provide the safest worksite possible for everyone.
• Participate in job safety analysis and toolbox meetings with work crews to assist in positive hazard recognition.
• Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for accuracy and acknowledge by signing the JSA.
• Immediately report incidents/accidents to jobsite management, owner, and/or ISC corporate safety management if sole safety representative on site.
• Assist in and/or conduct scheduled safety meetings.
• Monitor safety progress at the work site and recommend corrective measures for potential safety problems to ISC management as needed.
• Conduct safety observations and distribute to all necessary individuals and ISC Regional Safety Manager or Director.
• Learn ISC safety policies and procedures, beyond that expected from craft associates.
• Escort associates to onsite or offsite occupational medicine.
• Understand the common principles of construction and the OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Must have a minimum of 4+ years Industrial safety field experience.
• Ability to communicate with ease in both English and Spanish.
• Clear MVR preferred.
• Certified in Basic First-aid, CPR and AED use trained.
• Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST), Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), or similar certification preferred.
• Able to use a computer including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be knowledgeable of the hazards associated with the areas for which responsible.
