Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of safety field experience in construction or industrial environments.
  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site specific safety orientation for ISC associates and subcontractors.
  • Maintain jobsite safety recordkeeping.
  • Proactively seek out mitigation measures for a safe worksite.

Job description

The Position

The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in protecting our associates by fostering a work environment where every individual is valued, supported, and empowered to return home safely each day. We are looking for a Safety Coordinator with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce.

This position requires a genuine and visible care for others, demonstrated through daily engagement, proactive risk recognition, and the courage to intervene when something isn’t right. The right candidate will be a safety professional who leads with empathy, builds trust, and reinforces a culture where people look out for one another. Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Conduct site specific safety orientation with ISC associates and subcontractors when first arriving to the site.
  • Maintain jobsite safety recordkeeping.
  • Proactively seek out good mitigation measures and controls to provide the safest worksite possible for everyone.
  • Participate in job safety analysis and toolbox meetings with work crews to assist in positive hazard recognition.
  • Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for accuracy and acknowledge it by signing the JSA.
  • Immediately report incidents/accidents to jobsite management, owner, and/or ISC corporate safety management if sole safety representative on site.
  • Assist in and/or conduct scheduled safety meetings.
  • Monitor safety progress at the work site and recommend corrective measures for potential safety problems to ISC management as needed.
  • Conduct safety observations and distribute them to all necessary individuals and ISC Regional Safety Manager or Director.
  • Learn ISC safety policies and procedures, beyond that expected from craft associates.
  • Escort associates to onsite or offsite occupational medicine.
  • Understand the common principles of construction and the OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of safety field experience in construction or industrial environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required
  • CHST or higher BCSP certification required (STS-C may be considered)
  • OSHA 510 certification required
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
