Job summary

Norrisasphalt is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety culture across asphalt paving, crushing, trucking, and maintenance. Based in Ottumwa, IA, this role ensures OSHA, MSHA, and DOT compliance while partnering with field leaders to create a safe and productive work environment.

You will develop safety programs, conduct inspections, lead training, investigate incidents, maintain records, and promote proactive safety practices across multiple operations through field presence

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
• OSHA 30, MSHA, CSP, ASP, or related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee safety programs and policies.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Lead employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
• Monitor driver safety performance and support accident prevention initiatives.
• Maintain safety records, regulatory documentation, and training records.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and field presence.
