Job summary

Norris Asphalt Paving Co. is seeking a high-capacity supervisor for our portable hot mix asphalt plant at the Ottumwa site. You will lead the plant team, manage material flow, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Position is full-time with long hours and travel. Benefits include medical, vision, life, disability, and critical illness insurance; a company vehicle and lodging reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math and strong problem solving.
• Must be able to supervise and coordinate crews.
• Welding, fabrication, and electrical repair skills preferred or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations and personnel of portable HMA plant at site.
• Order and control flow of all materials into and out of the plant.
• Ensure plant is safely and mechanically sound; manage maintenance.
• Supervise Plant Ground Man and End Loader Operator.
• Long hours with travel as needed.

Job Description

This position is responsible for all operations and personnel of a portable hot mix asphalt plant on the plant site. This includes all Norris Asphalt personnel and outside personnel visiting the site. Will be responsible for ordering and controlling the flow of all materials into and out of the plant site. Is responsible for ensuring the plant is physically maintained in a safe and mechanically sound operating manner. Will supervise the Plant Ground Man and End Loader Operator. The understanding of basic math is required. This position is a full time, salaried position, requires long hours and willingness to travel.
