Job summary

Norris Asphalt Paving Co. is seeking a full-time Plant Operations Manager to oversee a portable hot mix asphalt plant at the Ottumwa, Iowa site. The role includes supervising personnel, managing material flow, and ensuring safe, reliable plant operation.

The ideal candidate will have basic welding, fabrication or electrical repair experience, a willingness to travel, and the ability to work long hours. Company vehicle and lodging reimbursement are provided along with standard benefits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations and personnel of a portable HMA plant at the plant site.
• Order and control the flow of materials into and out of the plant site.
• Ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, mechanically sound operating condition.
• Supervise the Plant Ground Man and End Loader Operator.
• Travel as required and work long hours.

Job Description

This position is responsible for all operations and personnel of a portable hot mix asphalt plant on the plant site. This includes all Norris Asphalt personnel and outside personnel visiting the site. Will be responsible for ordering and controlling the flow of all materials into and out of the plant site. Is responsible for ensuring the plant is physically maintained in a safe and mechanically sound operating manner. Will supervise the Plant Ground Man and End Loader Operator. The understanding of basic math is required. This position is a full time, salaried position, requires long hours and willingness to travel.
