Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and audit our safety program for transportation construction projects. You will ensure a safe environment, review data, and drive a safety-first culture on site.

The role requires 5 years in construction safety, BCSP certifications, and strong communication. MEC offers relocation and a comprehensive benefits package as part of their full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
• 5 years of experience managing safety in construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
• Analyze occupational illness and accident data; recommend safety features to reduce exposure.
• Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on correct behaviors.
• Develop EH&S training materials, manuals, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Track safety training initiatives and maintain training records.
• Interpret safety regulations for the project and coordinate client-required safety training.
• Interface with OSHA/OSHA inspectors during site visits.
