Safety Manager - Commercial Construction

We are seeking a Safety Manager to implement BE&K's Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction projects. The Safety Manager will collaborate with project management teams and subcontractors to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with EHSP through behavior-based safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote BE&K's injury-free culture.
• Develop and mentor safety coordinator(s).
• Oversee pre-qualification processes for subcontractors.
• Coach management on safety leadership and practices.
• Analyze safety data and trends regularly.
• Develop safety programs and protocols.
• Create site-specific safety plans aligned with company and client standards.
• Innovate methods for hazard mitigation.
• Conduct regular safety audits and share findings with project teams.
• Monitor subcontractor safety adherence.
• Engage the team in safety management practices.
• Maintain safety documentation and records.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented team players capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Requirements include:

• Degree in safety management or CHST certification (preferred but not mandatory).
• At least 5 years of construction site experience.
• OSHA 500 training.
• Certified CPR Trainer.
• Additional certifications such as train-the-trainer are a plus; bilingual skills are advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements
