Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Safety Manager to join our Commercial Construction team. This role is integral to the safe and successful execution of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of safety and health, including the development and implementation of safety programs, compliance with regulatory agencies, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide new hire safety training and ongoing safety training for all employees to ensure understanding of safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage accident investigations, including documenting incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the organization through communication, education, and positive reinforcement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including incident reports, training records, and safety committee minutes.
  • Serve as the company's primary contact for regulatory agencies, insurance carriers, and other external organizations related to safety and health.
  • Stay current with new safety trends, regulations, and best practices in the construction industry.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety Management in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety, EPA and OSHA policy compliance, and DOT regulations.
  • Proven experience in new hire safety training, safety training programs, workplace safety, hazard recognition, policy implementation, industrial safety, risk assessment, and accident investigation.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant safety certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage others in safety initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety protocols and procedures across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective safety measures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Must be able to travel to various job sites as needed.
