Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of safety and loss control policies, providing technical support on risk management, environmental, and safety matters to project teams. This role builds a culture of safe working conditions and behaviors while working independently toward measurable objectives with minimal supervision. The position involves collaboration with all internal departments and external partners, including owners, trade contractors, and vendors, to help drive excellent safety performance across the company.
Location: This position will be at the Hagerman Fishers office. This is not a remote position.
Safety Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure the safety of all personnel on site.
- Provide safety training and guidance to all team members, including subcontractors, to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, addressing any safety incidents or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with project management to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Facilitate safety meetings and briefings, ensuring that safety protocols and best practices are communicated effectively.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure that all necessary permits and safety documentation are up to date.
- Stay current with industry safety standards and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance site safety measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, NEBOSH) is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
