The ideal candidate will oversee electrical installation, utility construction, and a team of field safety technicians, balancing hands-on field presence with leadership to drive safety performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction site safety experience.
• Minimum 3 years in Lead Safety Manager/Project Safety Manager roles.
• NFPA 70E Training/Certification.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Strong electrical construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Project Safety Manager for electrical and utility construction operations.
• Provide daily leadership and direction to multiple field safety technicians.
• Assign safety coverage and ensure oversight of active work areas.
• Mentor safety personnel and maintain consistent safety expectations across the project.
• Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside electrical crews and supervision.
• Oversee electrical installation, utility, and infrastructure construction activities.
• Monitor NFPA 70E compliance and electrical safety practices.
• Support LOTO, hazardous energy control and electrical safe work practices.
• Conduct and oversee site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs, permits, pre-task plans, and high-risk activities.
• Coordinate safety actions with project management and subcontractors.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Track safety deficiencies and ensure corrective actions.

Location: Sidney, OH

Duration: 12 Months (Immediate Need)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $70/hr (Local) | $52/hr (Non-Local)

Overtime: Paid After 40 Hours at 1.4x Base Rate

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Non-Local Candidates)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | 50-60 Hours Per Week

Possible Sunday Work as Project Needs Require

Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of construction site safety experience

Minimum 3 years of experience serving in a Lead Safety Manager, Project Safety Manager, or comparable onsite safety leadership role

NFPA 70E Training/Certification

Current First Aid/CPR Certification

Strong electrical construction safety experience

Preferred Qualifications

CHST Certification

OSHA 500 Certification

Data center or mission-critical construction experience

Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control experience

Electrical energization and commissioning experience

Utility construction experience

Additional ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

What You'll Be Doing

• Serve as the lead Project Safety Manager for electrical and utility construction operations
• Provide daily leadership and direction to multiple field safety technicians
• Assign safety coverage and ensure appropriate oversight of active work areas
• Mentor safety personnel and maintain consistent safety expectations across the project
• Maintain a highly visible field presence alongside electrical crews and supervision
• Oversee electrical installation, utility, and infrastructure construction activities
• Monitor high-risk electrical work and ensure NFPA 70E requirements are followed
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazardous energy control, and electrical safe work practices
• Conduct and oversee site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, pre-task plans, and high-risk work activities
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and craft personnel
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
• Track safety deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Maintain project safety documentation, reports, metrics, and compliance records
• Provide field coaching and reinforce proactive hazard recognition
• Promote accountability and a strong safety culture throughout the project
