Reports to: Director of Engineering and Facilities
The Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture throughout the company. This role ensures all facilities comply with applicable Federal, State, and Local safety laws and regulations, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and DOT standards. The position oversees safety programs, training, inspections, and accident reporting to support a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Internal: Collaborates with Plant Managers, Environmental and Sustainability teams, Human Resources, and other facility leadership.
External: Coordinates with legal advisors, safety consultants, engineers, and regulatory representatives.
Lead initiatives to foster a proactive and engaged safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations and company standards.
Support plant leadership in conducting workplace inspections and identifying safety improvements.
Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting of all incidents and accidents.
Maintain and post OSHA-required documentation, such as injury and illness logs.
Oversee company-wide safety training programs and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Develop and deliver effective orientation and onboarding safety training for new employees.
Continuously evaluate training resources and introduce improvements, including the use of digital materials and internal communications.
Co-lead monthly Safety Committee meetings with site leadership.
Complete required OSHA coursework (501, 503, 511).
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the company's safety goals.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within an industrial or manufacturing setting
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
Ability to obtain ASP or CSP certification within 6 months of hire
OSHA HAZWOPER certified
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
10 years of safety management experience, preferably in food manufacturing
Master’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related discipline
Current ASP or CSP certification
Certified Electrician
Experience with ARC Flash Analysis protocols
Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations
Proficiency in more than one language, especially Spanish, is a plus
