Role: Safety Manager

Your Impact

This remote role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legal regulations by monitoring practices, conducting training sessions, investigating accidents, and recommending improvements to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. You will actively work to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses by identifying and mitigating hazards. Due to recurring onsite visits at grow/processing facilities (currently six locations: PA, MD, MA, MI, WV, OR), travel to sites up to 50% of the time is required. Living within driving distance of one of the facilities is helpful but not mandatory.

• Serve as the leader and subject matter expert on all aspects of ensuring a safe working environment for our team.
• Develop, implement, train, and coach team members, and monitor safety policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (OSHA, etc.).
• Perform regular inspections, identify hazards, and implement risk-mitigation strategies in collaboration with business leaders.
• Design and lead training programs on proper procedures and hazard awareness.
• Maintain policies, safety documentation, safety metrics, and workplace incident records.
• Foster open communication, collaborate with on-site teams, and ensure emergency procedures and equipment testing are up to date.
