Job summary

Diversified Safety Services, LLC. on a large-scale construction project in Ashburn, VA, is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead on-site safety efforts and drive a proactive safety culture.

The role requires strong leadership, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation, with responsibilities including inspections, training, incident investigations, and policy development. Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (must be able to speak English & Spanish).
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction, or OSHA 510 is preferred.
• First Aid/ CPR/ AED.
• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Understanding of OSHA guidelines and safety policies.
• Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, especially when handling an accident or incident.

• Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and maintain logs and reports.
• Implement and enforce project safety plans, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training for site personnel.
• Maintain regular on-site presence and participate in project and team meetings.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor field safety staff and subcontractor safety representatives.
• Support additional project-specific safety initiatives and compliance needs.
• Produce reports and develop safety policies.

Job description

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced full-time, on-site Safety Manager to oversee safety efforts on a large-scale construction project. This role requires a proven safety professional with strong leadership, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation skills to drive a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site safety representative supporting the contractor, ensuring compliance with all project, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and safety documentation.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce project-specific safety plans, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training sessions for site personnel.
• Maintain regular on-site presence and actively participate in project and team meetings to provide proactive safety guidance.
• Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor field safety staff and subcontractor safety representatives, promoting engagement and accountability.
• Support additional project-specific safety initiatives and compliance requirements as needed.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
• Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience in new construction is preferred
• Mechanical knowledge is preferred
• Must have at least 3 years of construction safety experience
