Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Safety Specialist at our Lima, OH facility to safeguard workers and processes. You will ensure compliance with safety and environmental systems and work with operations, maintenance, and engineering to reduce occupational risk.

The role involves field coaching, incident investigations, and regulatory training (OSHA, EPA, etc.), plus participation in safety meetings, audits, and project reviews, all while modeling Nutrien’s values of safety and integrity in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Science or 6+ years related experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental standards.
• Experience with incident investigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Nutrien's Safety and Environmental systems.
• Lead safety meetings, inspections, audits, investigations and reviews.
• Support field operations and mentor contractors and employees.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to mitigate risk.
• Lead incident management and share lessons learned.
• Maintain field presence about 50% of the time.
