Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a safety professional to ensure compliance with its Safety and Environmental systems at its Lima, OH operations. The role involves active participation in safety meetings and audits, leading incident investigations, and coaching teams on risk reduction across plant operations.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to mitigate hazards, support OSHA/EPA/PSM/RMP training, and uphold Nutrien's culture of care and integrity in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Science (or 6+ years in related field).
• Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental standards/practices.
• Knowledge of incident investigation techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Nutrien's Safety and Environmental systems.
• Present/participate in safety meetings, inspections, field audits and investigations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Process and Project Engineering to mitigate safety risk.
• Lead safety incident management processes including investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain a field presence ~50% of time coaching/mentoring contractors and employees.
• Support regulatory compliance and training (OSHA, EPA, PSM, RMP, and others).
• Model Nutrien's values of safety and integrity and foster an inclusive safety culture.
• Familiar with high-risk work hazard control programs (Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.).
