Job summary

Ahlstrom is seeking a Safety Intern at our Rhinelander, Wisconsin plant for Summer 2027. This internship will support the Production Team in achieving safety, quality, and cost objectives along a paper machine process line.

The role provides hands-on experience in safety, operations, and process improvement within an engaged team setting, with a pay rate of $27.00 per hour and a June–August 2027 timeframe. Relocation to Rhinelander may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an OHS, Paper Science, or similar Engineering degree program.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Willing to relocate to Rhinelander, WI for Summer 2027 (June–August).
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, quality, production, and regulatory policies for each paper grade.
• Assist and/or lead safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, and housekeeping projects.
• Support safety manager in leading plant safety improvement efforts, including daily and long-term activities.

We are seeking a Safety Intern at our Rhinelander, Wisconsinplant for Summer 2027.This position will assist the Production Team in the achievement of safety, quality, production, cost, and product development objectives of a paper machine process line. Pay Rate

Requirements

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Enrolled in an OHS, Paper Science, or similar Engineering degree program
• Living in or willing to relocate to the Rhinelander, Wisconsin area from June – August 2027
• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the position
• Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities
• Strong time management skills and highly self-motivated
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
• Assist and/or lead safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, compliance, and housekeeping projects
• Support safety manager in leading plant safety improvement efforts, including daily and long term activities
