Job summary

Silvi Materials offers a Safety Intern position based out of Fairless Hills, PA with travel to PA and NJ sites. You will join a top safety team, participate in inspections, and gain hands-on exposure to our construction materials operations.

The internship will cover MSHA certification, field visits, audits, and developing safety training materials, emphasizing real-world applications of OSHA and DOT standards.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Able to work 10-12 hour days with some Saturdays.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to work well in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable in a manufacturing/outdoor environment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Field visits to mines, concrete plants, and client sites to conduct safety inspections.
• Get MSHA certification (company-paid).
• Conduct safety audits under safety department supervision.
• Participate in accident and injury investigations.
• Develop daily Safety Communications/Training Materials.
• Apply OSHA/MSHA/DOT regulatory standards to safety and operations.

As a Silvi Materials Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into the world of concrete and learn what the world’s most used building material it is all about. You will get to work alongside our Top-Notch Safety team while building on your skills. Your 10–12-week experience will include everything from getting MSHA certified to field visits/inspections, accident and injury review & so much more! The goal of the Safety Internship is to provide individuals with a hands‑on approach to what it takes to be part of a Construction Materials company's HSE team!

So, what does a Safety Intern do?

You will be an integral part of our Safety Team:

• Get MSHA certified! (Company-paid training)
• Field visits to our various mines, concrete plants, and client sites to conduct safety inspections (Exposure to all Silvi Locations)
• Conducting safety audits under the supervision of the safety department.
• Participate in accident & injury investigations.
• Developing daily Safety Communications/ Training Materials
• (Applying the regulatory standards of OSHA/MSHA/DOT and Hazard Recognition Training to our safety and operational practices. (Real world experiences)

Qualifications Required

• Enrollment and continuation of a Bachelors’ program preferably in the fields of Occupational Health and Safety, or a similar course of study!
• Ability to work a schedule of 10-12 hour per day and some Saturdays.
• Proficient in MS suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work well with team members.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work comfortably in a manufacturing and outdoor environment in addition to some office use.
• Valid Driver’s License

• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
