Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Safety Manager I to administer the Safety and Health Management System for an assigned location. You will partner with project teams and clinics, conduct inspections, and lead training to ensure safety compliance.

A Bachelor’s in Safety or related field is preferred, with at least 3 years of safety experience in construction or related industries. Certifications such as CSP/CHST/CMSP are preferred.

• Knowledge of applicable state and federal safety and health regulations.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, follow-through and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project teams and stakeholders to ensure safety program adherence.
• Administer and manage the Safety and Health Management System and incident prevention efforts.
• Advise on changes to work procedures to enhance safety for employees and the public.
• Perform inspections and audits to reduce incidents and protect employee health and safety.
• Lead trainings, regulatory compliance initiatives and communication on safety standards.
• Coordinate meetings and training programs to communicate company expectations.
• Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
• Assist in developing and reviewing job hazard analyses with identified hazards and controls.
