Job summary

Saicon is seeking a Safety Specialist to promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment across facilities in Michigan. You will develop and monitor safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, and train staff and contractors while supporting EHS initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field or equivalent experience, 2+ years in workplace safety, and strong communication skills. Travel between sites may be involved as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Safety, EH&S, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
• Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Experience with safety management systems and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near-miss events and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare management reports.
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities.
• Conduct JSA and risk assessments.
• Promote a positive safety culture with supervisors and management.
• Maintain training, inspections, incidents, and regulatory records.
