Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is offering a 12-month Safety, Health & Environment Development Program in Houston, TX. You will gain broad exposure to operations, lead projects, and develop leadership and technical skills while supporting SH&E initiatives.

Successful candidates have a bachelor’s in a related field, 1–2 years of work or internship experience, and a commitment to safety culture. Power BI knowledge is a plus; you will collaborate across teams to improve compliance and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, EHS, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
  • 1–2 years’ work experience including internships in related degree areas.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in campus activities or community.
  • Strong communication, adaptability and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Power BI knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 12-month development program exposing you to operations and leadership opportunities.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of SH&E programs across facilities.
  • Partner with site leadership to promote safety culture and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in workplace safety assessments, risk evaluations, investigations, and corrective tracking.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, inspections, audits and reporting.
  • Participate in SH&E projects focused on risk reduction and well-being.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hazard reduction and process improvements.
  • Establish relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental and quality requirements.

What you will enjoy doing*

  • Actively participate in a 12-month development program designed to provide broad exposure to Linde's operations while building technical and leadership capabilities through on-the-job experiences, project assignments, mentoring, and formal training
  • You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) programs across manufacturing, distribution, and operational facilities
  • Partner with site leadership and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • You are expected to assist in conducting workplace safety assessments, risk evaluations, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including inspections, audits, reporting, and sustainability initiatives
  • You will participate in special SH&E projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk, improving employee well-being, and enhancing environmental performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational excellence through hazard reduction, process improvements, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies as needed to support SH&E objectives
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements

What Makes You Great

  • You hold a bachelor's degree required in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 1-2 years’ work experience, including internships in designated degree areas required
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership in campus activities, clubs, sports, or community
  • You will be innovative, flexible, committed, ambitious and determined
  • Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, and have strong communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for workplace safety, environmental stewardship and continuous improvement
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ensure accountability through excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • You have actively contributed to a safety culture that delivers both best-in-class safety and business performance
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Power Applications a plus
