Job summary

Linde plc in Houston, TX is launching a 12-month professional development program in Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) designed to build technical and leadership capabilities through on-the-job experiences, mentoring, and formal training.

Program participants will support SH&E program implementation across manufacturing and distribution facilities, conduct risk assessments and incidents investigations, and collaborate with site leadership to promote a strong safety culture while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, EHS, or related field.
• 1–2 years’ work experience, including internships in degree areas.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and environmental compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support SH&E program implementation across facilities and operations.
• Conduct workplace safety assessments, risk evaluations, and incident investigations.
• Track corrective actions and support environmental compliance activities.
• Participate in SH&E projects aimed at risk reduction and well-being.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety and operations.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and regulators to meet SH&E objectives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and environmental requirements.

What you will enjoy doing*

• Actively participate in a 12-month development program designed to provide broad exposure to Linde's operations while building technical and leadership capabilities through on-the-job experiences, project assignments, mentoring, and formal training
• You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) programs across manufacturing, distribution, and operational facilities
• Partner with site leadership and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• You are expected to assist in conducting workplace safety assessments, risk evaluations, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking
• Support environmental compliance activities, including inspections, audits, reporting, and sustainability initiatives
• You will participate in special SH&E projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk, improving employee well-being, and enhancing environmental performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational excellence through hazard reduction, process improvements, and employee engagement initiatives
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies as needed to support SH&E objectives
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements

What makes you great

• You hold a bachelor's degree required in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
• 1-2 years’ work experience, including internships in designated degree areas required
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems a plus
• Demonstrated leadership in campus activities, clubs, sports, or community
• You will be innovative, flexible, committed, ambitious and determined
• Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, and have strong communications skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for workplace safety, environmental stewardship and continuous improvement
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• You must model high standards of honesty and integrity
• Maintain a track record of exceeding goals successfully
• Ensure accountability through excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• You have actively contributed to a safety culture that delivers both best‑in‑class safety and business performance
• Knowledgeof Power BI and Power Applications a plus
