Job summary

American Woodmark Corp. in Moorefield, WV is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety professional to support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

The role focuses on updating safety practices, handling workers’ compensation files, and supporting training initiatives on the plant floor. You will work with the EH&S Manager on projects, perform data entry and inspections, and help maintain required programs on-site.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• 2 to 4 years’ experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Excellent personal computer skills; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and reporting goals.

Responsibilities

• Update plant safety practices documents to create a safe working environment.
• File Workers’ Compensation claims and maintain document files.
• Accompany employees on initial visits, physicians or drug screens as needed.
• Assist in safety and technical training as needed and directed.
• Work with EH&S Manager on various projects and initiatives.
• Maintain EH&S data entry, monitoring reports and on-site files for inspectors.
• Conduct ongoing safety inspections and audits of facilities, operations, and equipment.
