Job summary

Olin is seeking a Safety Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Oxford, MS site. You will assist the EH&S team with safety investigations, training development, and ergonomic assessments to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

You will lead at least three hands-on projects, investigate incidents, support new-hire training, and participate in cross-functional FMEA discussions. This internship is full-time, on-site, and requires ITAR access as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering degree program.
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times; official transcript required each term.
• Sophomore year completed (60+ credits) prior to first rotation.
• Experience with ammunition or firearms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects during the rotation.
• Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in developing new hire training and participate in FMEA discussions.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments using software and NIOSH techniques.

Education

Engineering major: Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical

GPA 3.0+ (4.0 scale); transcripts required each term
