Job summary

FedEx is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team in a fast-paced facility, uphold the Safety Above All Culture, and ensure safe, efficient package sortation. You will oversee a staff of package handlers and possibly administrative employees, aligning daily activities with FedEx policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, performance management, directing operations, managing cost and quality, and training on quality assurance, SWAK, VEDR, and dock

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience in package handler or supervisory roles
• Associate's Degree in related area or 2+ years of college courses toward a degree
• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Champion FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support related initiatives
• Hire, coach, train, recognize and manage staff performance
• Plan, organize and direct day-to-day operations
• Assign and manage staff for safe and efficient sortation
• Analyze performance and implement improvement actions
• Lead daily meetings and communicate operational updates to staff
• Maintain confidentiality of employee relations material
• Contribute to safety strategies and programs
• Address and resolve customer service issues as appropriate
• Train new employees on job duties and FXG policies and safety requirements
• Mentor and develop junior supervisors
• Adapt quickly to changing business needs while engaging staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
