Job summary

RJM Construction in the Twin Cities area seeks a Safety Director to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety program across the organization. You will partner with field teams, project leadership, clients, and regulators to enhance accountability and safety performance.

The role requires 10+ years in construction, strong OSHA knowledge, and ability to drive continuous improvement through data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
• 10+ years of construction industry experience preferred
• 5+ years managing a structured safety program, preferably with general or specialty contractor
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and applicable regulations
• Experience developing safety programs, training, inspections, and investigations
• Experience managing employees and/or third-party safety providers
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement RJM’s company-wide safety program
• Strengthen safety culture, accountability, training, and compliance
• Lead initiatives and establish meaningful safety KPIs
• Interact with field teams, project leadership, clients, subcontractors, and regulators
• Oversee safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions
• Lead or participate in the Safety Committee and safety incentives
