Job description

CraneTech is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Safety Coordinator to champion our safety culture across all operations and branch locations. This role is more than enforcing checklists—it’s about partnering with field teams, management, and technicians to build practical, sustainable safety solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong safety background, a track record of enhancing performance through partnership, and the flexibility to travel regularly to our branch sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety Partnership: Act as a hands-on safety partner to branch managers, service coordinators, and field technicians—guiding best practices rather than policing compliance.
  2. Site Visits & Audits: Conduct routine and surprise safety audits at CraneTech branches and job sites; identify hazards, recommend improvements, and verify corrective actions.
  3. Program Development: Collaborate with operations leadership to develop, update, and roll out safety programs, policies, and toolbox talks that align with OSHA, ANSI, and industry standards.
  4. Training & Coaching: Design and deliver engaging safety training—both in the classroom and in the field—on topics such as lockout/tagout, fall protection, hazard communication, and crane-specific procedures.
  5. Incident Management: Lead incident investigations by gathering facts, analyzing root causes, and partnering with stakeholders to implement preventive measures; track and report on incident metrics.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with federal, state, and local safety regulations; ensure CraneTech branches maintain required permits, documentation, and reporting.
  7. Safety Metrics & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions; prepare regular reports and dashboards for leadership review.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Facilitate safety committee meetings at branch and corporate levels; solicit feedback, share lessons learned, and drive ongoing enhancements to the EHS program.
  9. Safety Culture Building: Foster a proactive “see something, say something” mindset—recognizing and rewarding positive safety behaviors and creating open channels for reporting concerns without fear of reprisal.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of direct safety coordination or EHS experience in construction, industrial services, or equipment rental industries.
  • Proven track record as a safety partner—able to influence behavior, build buy-in, and implement solutions collaboratively.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices for aerial work platforms, cranes, and heavy equipment.
  • Experience conducting root-cause analyses and leading incident investigations.
  • Excellent presentation, coaching, and interpersonal skills; comfortable training groups of varied sizes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to regional branch locations and job sites.
  • Certifications such as CSP, Certified Safety Manager (CSM), or OSHA Outreach Trainer preferred.
