Tulsa Community College is seeking a Safety Compliance Officer to develop and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves conducting audits, providing training, and collaborating with staff to promote a culture of safety within the college. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in safety management.
Develop and maintain computerized record systems to collect relevant data and information for Safety compliance. Will conduct research and organize departmental projects with the goal of ensuring a safe work environment for employees. Hand highly confidential information about compliance violations.
Develop and implement safety procedures in accordance with regulatory standards, SMS & TCC aviation ops manual.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards.
Monitor adherence to health & safety protocols and report violations.
Provide safety training and education for staff and students as appropriate.
Prepare reports on incidents and accidents to provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with staff and management to create a culture of safety.
Investigate safety incidents and ensure all documentation is updated accordingly.
Stay updated on new laws and regulations regarding flight safety. Collaborate with government agencies to ensure regulations are being followed (TIAA, TSA, FAA, NTSB).
Establish and maintain regular communication with vendors to promote mutual safety objectives (maintenance, fuel service, Baldwin, Appaero, Talon, Foreflight, Redbird).
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Organizational Management, Business, or a related field.
3 years of related work experience.
Planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of occupational safety and health administration, risk management and aviation safety standards.
Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and present materials.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to travel between TCC campuses.
Ability to climb ladders, endure inclement weather conditions, and stand for long periods of time in the course of conducting accident investigations and risk inspections.
Aviation Safety Professional, Aviation Safety Management System, or other similar certifications.
One year certificate or training from college or technical school in Aviation Safety Risk Management, Aviation Safety Professional and/or Safety Management Systems SMS.
