Job summary

EK Services Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator in New Cumberland, PA to lead our field safety program, ensure regulatory compliance, and engage employees in safe work practices.

You will coordinate OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA training, track incidents, and support the Safety Director and HR in maintaining a proactive safety culture. The role requires proactive safety leadership, ability to travel, and a background in construction safety with relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Preferred 2-3 years of construction safety experience including heavy equipment, excavation/trenching, rigging and lifting, and confined space entry.
• Experience creating Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) is preferred.
• Knowledge of Ground Alliance and PA-1 Call regulations.

EK SERVICES IS HIRING A SAFETY COORDINATOR!

EK Services Inc. is an underground utility contractor in New Cumberland, PA seeking to add a Safety Coordinator to its team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the record keeping and organization of the field safety program, safety compliance, environmental compliance, and employee engagement in support of a safety conscious work environment.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:

• Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Assist in conducting training and coaching of associates on observed work habits in support of this effort
• Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate Safety Program expectations and applicable federal and state law.
• Coordinate, implement, and conduct safety training relating to OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA
• Work as team with the Safety Director, Field Operations and Human Resource Department
• Schedule and attend Safety Department activities:
• Coordinate Safety Committee Meetings and Quarterly Safety Meetings
• Analyze and track incidents, injury/illness logs; trend analysis, track in HCSS
• Incident case management, root cause, and accident investigations, recommend/i mplement corrective actions if necessary
• File incident reports with the insurance carrier as needed, work with the insurance carrier to close out claims in a timely fashion.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, post as required.
• Audit and Maintain PPE inventory and SDS Library
• Implement, document, and train employees on Company policies and procedures as it pertains to Safety & Health and/or Human Resources
• Assist in managing and maintaining day-to-day EHS programs, including new hire orientation and HCSS Safety module
• Maintain an employee-oriented company safety culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
• Other duties as assigned
  

EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Preferred 2-3 years of construction safety experience which includes:Heavy equipment,Excavation and trenching, Rigging and lifting and Confined Space Entry
• Preferred experience creating Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Knowledge of Common Ground Alliance and PA-1 Call regulations and systems
• First Aid AED/CPR certification is preferred. Instructor certification is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certificate is preferred. OSHA 500 Instructor certification is a plus.
• Experience managing workers compensation claims.
• Ability to travel and work in an outdoor setting year-round
• Flexibility to maneuver between multiple systems and task with ability to determine severity/priority of task
