Job summary

SkyChefs is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Miami to monitor driver SOPs and ensure compliance, while maintaining safety records. The role partners with the department to uphold safety standards and drive incident prevention across operations.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of safety experience, a valid license, and the ability to obtain an Airport SIDA badge soon after hire; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Airport SIDA badge within 30 days of hire.
• 3–5 years of safety experience preferred; airline ramp safety experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; strong computer skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as operations require.
• Bilingual, Spanish speaking a plus.

Responsibilities

• Train drivers on SOPs and provide re-training as needed.
• Update and maintain driver files and certifications.
• Process Port Authority/Customs identifications.
• Ensure trucks have current state inspections and Insurance IDs.
• Ensure drivers follow A-1 Inspection procedures.
• Assist Ramp Safety Supervisor with clerical duties.

Role Purpose Statement

Administrative position with responsibility for monitoring driver SOP and working with the department to ensure compliance in addition to maintaining & monitoring employee safety

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
• Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
• Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
• Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
• Open availability, ability to work nights and weekends as operations require
• Bilingual, Spanish Speaking a plus
