Job summary

SkyChefs is seeking a Safety Coordinator to monitor driver SOPs, ensure compliance, and manage safety-related documentation at our Miami site. The role involves maintaining driver files, processing identifications, and supporting ramp safety operations.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of safety experience, a high school diploma, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, with availability for nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to obtain necessary badges (SIDA) and CBP Seal within 30 days.
• 3–5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may substitute.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other computer applications.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication; excellent organization.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends as operations require.
• Spanish speaking a plus.

Responsibilities

• Train new drivers on SOPs and retrain existing drivers.
• Maintain and update all driver files and documents.
• Process Port Authority/Customs identifications.
• Ensure trucks have current State inspections, registrations and Insurance IDs.
• Enforce A-1 inspection procedures for drivers.
• Assist Ramp Safety Supervisor and perform additional clerical duties.

Role Purpose Statement

Administrative position with responsibility for monitoring driver SOP and working with the department to ensure compliance in addition to maintaining & monitoring employee safety

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
• Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
• Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
• Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
