Job summary

SkyChefs is seeking a dedicated Safety Clerk in San Francisco to monitor driver SOPs and help ensure workplace safety across buildings. This is a field position with responsibility for safety compliance and driver file maintenance, with a schedule covering 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and off Sundays/ Mondays according to operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain Airport SIDA and CBP badges within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Train all new drivers on SOP and re-train existing drivers.
• Update and maintain all driver files.
• Process Port Authority/Customs identifications.
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance IDs for trucks are current.
• Ensure drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures.
• Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor and perform other clerical duties as assigned.

Role Purpose Statement

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Clerk to join our team.

This is a Field position with responsibility for monitoring driver SOP and working with the department to ensure compliance; in addition to maintaining and monitoring employee safety within our buildings.

The Schedule: 1430-2300 - Off Sun/Mon

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mus possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
• Open availability, ability to work nights and weekends as operations require
