Job summary

SkyChefs in Minneapolis is seeking a Safety and Security Supervisor to lead ramp and employee safety initiatives on-site. You will oversee OSHA/FDA/EPA compliance, train staff on safety SOPs, and drive investigations and corrective actions to sustain safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Safety-related field and 1–3 years of related experience, with strong leadership and communication skills to support regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of directly related experience in operations and safety.
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and meet budget.
  • Understanding of OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA regulations and related state agencies.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure compliance with ramp and employee safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee employee safety programs and SOPs.
  • Regularly train employees on Employee Safety and Ramp Safety SOPs.
  • Conduct monthly Safety meetings.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all Accidents are investigated and corrective actions implemented.
  • Support Audit Readiness in collaboration with leadership.

In this role, you will lead the charge in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our ramp operations. You’ll oversee every aspect of our employee safety programs and ramp procedures, playing a vital role in creating a secure, seamless environment for our team and our airline partners.

Main Accountabilities
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with Company ramp and employee safety initiatives.
  • Partners with CSC Leadership regarding employee safety issues. involving but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Federal Aviation Agency (FAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT); and applicable state agencies.
  • Coordinate ramp/employee safety initiatives and appropriate. measurement systems as set by company and customer.
  • Regularly trains employees on all Employee Safety and Ramp Safety SOPs.
  • Supervise daily area / department activities in the CSC.
  • Conduct monthly Safety meetings.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all Accidents are investigated and corrective/preventive action is implemented and sustained.
  • Partners with CSC Leadership to ensure Audit Readiness.
  • Leadership.
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed.
  • Guide, motivate and develop the subordinate employees within the Human Resources Policy.
  • Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s).
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and CBase.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering or in related field preferred.
  • In addition, one to three years of directly related experience in operations and safety required.
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve budget.
  • Understanding and applicability of governmental regulations such as OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA regulations, as well as applicable state agencies.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combines with an aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application.
