Safety Coordinator

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking aSafety Coordinatorat its ISO 9000 certified Marietta, Ohio manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Position Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the facility’s compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations. This responsibility includes planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health and safety programs to ensure the highest possible degree of employee safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and oversee health and safety programs to ensure that all federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed.

• Identify and partner with management on compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through assessments, audits, and GEMBA walks.

• Facilitate the incident investigation process to ensure root cause corrective actions.

• Manage worker’s compensation cases.

• Comply with all OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.

• Perform program audits for the various health and safety programs to ensure compliance to standards (HAZCOM, LOTO, confined space, fall protection, etc.).

• Lead the Company/Union Safety Committee and Company/Union safety walks.

• Conduct new hire safety orientations and provide monthly and annual safety training to all employees.

• Conduct daily, monthly and annual inspections and tests on equipment such as ventilation hoods, fire systems, fall protection, AEDs, etc.

• Develop and maintain controls for identified hazards, evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control systems and recommend changes as needed.

• Provide training to all employees on safety regulations, procedures and best practices.

• Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements.

• Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a safety-related field.

• Minimum five (5) years’ relevant health and safety experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Certified safety professional (CSP) designation .

• First Aid/CPR certification .

• Worker’s Compensation case management and OSHA recordkeeping experience.

• Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.

• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.

• Excellent people and process management skills.

• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in emergency situations.

• Ability to enthusiastically deliver effectively training to all levels within the organization.
