Job description

The Safety Coordinator supports the Division Safety Leader and Operations team in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment across fabrication facilities in Maryland. This role focuses on day‑to‑day safety support, compliance monitoring, employee engagement, and documentation to ensure adherence to company policies and OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine walkthroughs of fabrication facilities to monitor compliance with company, state, and federal OSHA regulations
• Partner with supervisors and employees to identify hazards and assist in implementing corrective actions
• Document safety inspections, near‑misses, and incidents; track corrective actions to completion
• Assist with maintaining required safety documentation, including accident reports, inspection logs, and training records
• Support accident and injury investigations and help prepare required documentation
• Reinforce company safety policies and safe work practices in the field
• Provide guidance to employees on general industry safety standards (OSHA CFR 1910)
• Assist with delivering safety meetings and toolbox talks
• Monitor trends in incidents and injuries and communicate findings to leadership
• Support emergency response efforts as needed
• Promote a positive safety culture through strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of general industry safety experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (completed or in progress) OR OSHA 30 certification required
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 (general industry standards)
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced fabrication/shop environment
• Ability to travel to fabrication locations within Maryland as needed
