Hodess is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support construction operations and help maintain a safe, compliant, and proactive jobsite environment. This is a hands-on, field-based role working with project management, field supervision, craft employees, subcontractors, and GC safety personnel.

Description

Hodess is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support construction operations and help maintain a safe, compliant, and proactive jobsite environment. This is a hands-on, field-based position that will work closely with project management, field supervision, craft employees, subcontractors, and General Contractor (GC) safety personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong construction safety experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify hazards, communicate safety expectations, and support corrective actions in an active construction environment. Semiconductor/high-tech construction experience is preferred.


Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $40–$45 per hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Per Diem: Potentially available for eligible employees whose assigned work location is outside a 75 mile radius.



  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, field observations, and safety audits.

  • Maintain a consistent field presence and monitor construction activities for compliance with OSHA, company, client, and project-specific safety requirements.

  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs), Risk Assessment/Method Statements (RAMs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, and other required safety documentation.

  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards and work with field supervision to implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Monitor high-risk activities and verify that required safety procedures and controls are being followed.

  • Monitor compliance with PPE requirements, fall protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), MEWP operations, lifting and rigging, hot work, confined space activities, and other applicable high-risk work.

  • Support employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, pre-task meetings, safety meetings, and training activities.

  • Assist supervisors and employees with interpreting and implementing project safety requirements and safe work practices.

  • Monitor subcontractor safety activities and communicate safety expectations, deficiencies, and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and GC/client safety representatives regarding jobsite safety concerns.

  • Assist with incident, near-miss, first-aid, and property-damage investigations and reporting.

  • Gather information, document findings, and assist with tracking corrective actions resulting from incidents and observations.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, permits, and other required project safety documentation.

  • Track identified safety deficiencies and follow up with responsible parties to ensure corrective actions are completed.

  • Conduct inspections of work areas, access and egress routes, housekeeping, material storage, barricades, signage, and general jobsite conditions.

  • Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response procedures as required.

  • Assist with safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

  • Support the collection and reporting of project safety metrics and observations.

  • Encourage employees and subcontractors to proactively identify and report hazards, near misses, and safety concerns.

  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture throughout the project.

  • Assist with implementing safety initiatives, campaigns, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Communicate safety concerns promptly to field supervision and project management.

  • Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • Construction safety experience required.

  • OSHA 30 certification required.

  • Semiconductor, high-tech, advanced manufacturing, data center, or industrial construction experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of construction safety practices, hazard recognition, and applicable OSHA requirements.

  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections and safety observations.

  • Experience reviewing JHAs/JSAs, PTPs, RAMs, or similar safety documentation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and field leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with project management, supervision, craft employees, subcontractors, and GC/client safety personnel.

  • Ability to communicate safety requirements clearly and professionally to employees at all levels.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
