Job summary

MAC Trailer in Billings, MT is seeking a Safety Specialist to manage incident reporting, inspections, and safety program development at our local site. You will investigate incidents, maintain OSHA records, and coordinate tests and training to promote a safe workplace.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential, with experience in safety systems and MS Office. CSP or related certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage incident reports and documentation.
  • Lead compliance inspections (OSHA, Fire, EPA, etc.).
  • Investigate accidents and determine countermeasures.
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and safety training records.
  • Coordinate safety tests including Medical Clearance, Hearing Tests, Air and Noise monitoring.
  • Order safety supplies and provide appropriate PPE to employees.
  • Generate monthly accident and safety assessment reports.
  • Conduct safety training classes.
  • Lead the Safety Committee.
  • Assist with new employee orientation training.
  • Issue disciplinary warnings and counsel employees.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Environment, Health, and Safety or equivalent experience preferred, but not required; CSP preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or certification preferred, but not required.
  • Workers Compensation knowledge and work experience preferred, but not required.
