Job summary

Sure Power, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to enforce health and safety programs, conduct audits, and train staff at customer sites and our facilities. The role acts as a liaison between employees and management to promote a safe workplace and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include site safety inspections, incident investigations with the EHS Manager, safety drills, documentation, and ongoing program improvements to reduce risk and injuries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety preferred.
• OSHA 30 and CPR certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years' EHS experience with strong electrical background.

Responsibilities

• Visit job sites and conduct safety audits/inspections; travel up to 50%.
• Stop operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
• Collaborate with EHS Manager to investigate incidents and identify root causes.
• Coordinate safety drills and emergency response plans.
• Submit recommendations to improve the safety management program.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation and reports.
• Provide safety training to employees, both in-office and on-site.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules.
• Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries and health problems.
• Share environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
• Promote a safety culture within the organization.
• Serve as a point of contact for safety concerns and inquiries.
• Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for enforcing safety programs to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. This role plays a vital part in risk assessment, accident prevention strategies, and maintaining a safe workplace environment. Serves as a primary liaison between employees and management regarding safety-related issues. Conducts safety training.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with EHS Manager to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation and reports
• Review current safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates
• Provide safety training to employees, both in-office and on-site
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules
• Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems
• Share environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization
• Promote a safety culture within the organization

Requirements

High School Diploma required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred. Certification from a recognized safety program preferred (e.g. CSP, CHST).

Minimum 3 years previous experience in EHS and a strong electrical background required. OSHA 30 and CPR certifications required.

Extensive knowledge of: security protocols, emergency preparedness, hazard identification, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to conduct effective training sessions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with various teams. Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks.
