Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Safety Specialist for on-site data center projects. You will lead safety program development, provide training, and ensure regulatory compliance across construction activities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA 30/510/500 certifications, and strong collaboration with project teams. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with focus on incident reporting and PPE oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily on-site presence during normal construction hours.
• Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs for data center construction.
• Create and manage Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA).
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and local safety regulations.
• Conduct regular job site inspections.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and ensure workers meet required certifications.
• Serve as the primary safety contact.
• Report incidents and maintain documentation.
• Work with project managers and crews to integrate safety into operations.
• Monitor proper PPE usage and ensure safety equipment is maintained.
• Assist with cabling tasks and provide safety insights for data center operations.

Job description

Requirements

• 5-years of relevant safety experience in construction
• OSHA 30
• Can proficiently develop a JHA: Job Hazard Analysis and PTSA: Pre-Task Safety Analysis
• Proven experience in on-the-job safety adherence and regulatory compliance
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Highly structured with strong attention to detail
• Coachable, takes direction well, and works effectively with others
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a background check & drug screen
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• OSHA 510/500 STSC and/or CHST

• Confined Space Competency
• Fluent in English & Spanish is a bilingual advantage
• Experienced in Active Data Center Operations
• Practical experience in network cabling, termination, and closet builds
