Job summary

Lambda on-site lead for data center projects drives field coordination across MEP contractors, low-voltage, and network teams. You will run daily huddles, set priorities, and manage fit-outs, rack installs, and containment, ensuring safety and on-time delivery.

You will oversee documentation, punch lists, RFIs, and progress lookaheads, while coordinating with multiple internal teams for GPU-ready deployments and final handoff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of construction field experience, including 2+ years in foreman, lead, or superintendent capacity.
  • Direct experience with data center white space fit-out, critical facility construction, or comparable work.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, low voltage systems, including power distribution, cooling, containment, and cabling.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and installation instructions; produce redlines.
  • OSHA 30 certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, pre-functional checklists, and punch list closeout.
  • Comfort with Procore, Smartsheet, MS Project, and Monday.com; mobile photo documentation.
  • Able to lift and work at height in active construction environments; willing to travel ~75%.
  • Completed trade apprenticeship, journeyman license, technical certification, or associate degree preferred.
  • NFPA 70E familiarity preferred; First Aid and CPR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site for assigned data center projects.
  • Direct daily activity across MEP contractors, low-voltage and network installers, rack and integration crews, and OEM field teams.
  • Run daily huddles, set priorities, and coordinate crew scopes, sequences, and constraints.
  • Oversee white-space fit-outs, rack and cabinet setting, containment, busway and distribution, and cable management.
  • Enforce site safety requirements, permits, LOTO procedures, hot-work permits, and PPE compliance.
  • Conduct safety walks and lead incident and near-miss reporting.
  • Perform inspections, torque and termination checks, labeling verification, and punch-list closeout.
  • Coordinate trade access, outage and switching windows, vendor access, badging, tools, materials, and site-rule compliance.
  • Receive, inspect, stage, secure, and track owner-furnished equipment.
  • Own the three-week field lookahead and track progress, manpower, materials, and constraints.
  • Produce daily field reports, maintain redlines, RFI and field-observation logs, and document as-built notes.
  • Resolve field conflicts, generate RFIs, and elevate cost, schedule, or safety impacts.
  • Support commissioning, integrated systems testing, final acceptance, and handoff to Data Center Operations.
  • Coordinate with Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, HPC, Supply Chain, and Technical Project Management for GPU-ready deployments.

Job description


  • Serve as Lambda’s on-site lead for assigned data center projects

  • Direct daily activity across MEP contractors, low-voltage and network installers, rack and integration crews, and OEM field service teams

  • Run daily huddles, set priorities, and coordinate crew scopes, sequences, and constraints

  • Oversee white-space fit-outs, rack and cabinet setting, containment, busway and branch-circuit distribution, rPDU installation, cable tray, structured cabling, liquid cooling and CDU tie-ins, and airflow management

  • Enforce site safety requirements, energized work permits, LOTO procedures, hot-work permits, and PPE compliance

  • Conduct safety walks and lead incident and near-miss reporting

  • Perform inspections, torque and termination checks, labeling verification, workmanship reviews, and punch-list closeout

  • Coordinate trade access, outage and switching windows, vendor access, badging, tools, materials, and site-rule compliance

  • Receive, inspect, stage, secure, and track owner-furnished contractor-installed equipment

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and low voltage systems and installation practices, including power distribution, cooling, containment, and cabling

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and installation instructions, and to produce accurate redlines

  • OSHA 30 certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire

  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, pre-functional checklists, and punch list closeout

  • Comfortable with field reporting tools and project platforms such as Procore, Smartsheet, MS Project, and Monday.com, and with mobile photo documentation

  • Able to lift, climb, work at height, and remain on foot in active construction environments for extended periods

  • Willingness to travel to and work within active construction sites approximately 75%, including off-hours and weekend work during critical activities

  • Completed trade apprenticeship, journeyman license, technical certification, or associate degree in a construction or engineering discipline strongly preferred

  • NFPA 70E familiarity preferred; First Aid and CPR certification a plus
