Job summary

Moran Environmental Recovery LLC seeks a Health and Safety Coordinator to drive safety management across the organization from Norfolk, VA. You will develop and reinforce best practice operating procedures, support all business units, and report to the Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager.

You will lead training programs, coordinate site-specific training, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety science or related field with 5+ years on large construction projects.
• OSHA 500 or 502 trainer certification with 5+ years in construction safety.
• CHST designation with 5+ years in construction safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910, 1915, and 1926 standards.
• Strong communication, analytical and persuasive skills.
• Ability to travel overnight as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer training programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory safety requirements.
• Coordinate, conduct and track site-specific training and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate findings and conduct on-site training when needed.
• Develop on-the-job or other value-added training with management.
• Collaborate to implement New Hire Orientation.
• Maintain Corporate Health and Safety SOPs and manuals.
• Create site-specific Health and Safety Plans as needed.
• Perform JHA and assist with PPE selection.
• Audit job site conditions and safety practices.
