Job summary

Allied Fire Protection in Pearland, TX is seeking a Safety Specialist to support the Regional Safety Manager. The role ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental procedures while helping achieve profitability and productivity goals.

The position involves conducting safety trainings, inspections, maintaining records, reporting findings, and assisting in developing safety programs and environmental reports. Travel up to 75% overnight is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations and write reports.
• Experience with OSHA, DOT, or EPA regulatory concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
• Advises RSM/SM on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
• Schedules and assists the RSM/SM with training for employees in work site safety practices
• Maintains safety files and records as directed
• Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
• Assists with post-incident case studies and preparation of report identifying possible incident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management
• Assist and set up training
• Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
• Assist and maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC etc.
