Job summary

Sysco is seeking a health, safety and environmental professional to assist with implementing prevention-focused HSE and security programs. The role supports OpCo-specific project implementation and training to align with Sysco's HSE objectives, including crisis preparedness.

The position requires coordinating safety training, maintaining program records, conducting inspections, and supporting regulatory interfaces to promote a zero-incident safety culture.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and/or minimum of 2 years of safety experience with OSHA certifications.
• Strong interest in safety with a proven record of results.
• Excellent employee relations and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of management, supervision, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Complete new hire orientation training programs as assigned by the Safety Director.
• Maintain records for safety programs (training logs, reports, inspections).
• Implement and train new training programs, provided by Safety Director, to employees and supervision as needed.
• Inspect facilities to detect unsafe conditions.
• Participate in investigations on vehicle accidents and injuries.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Engage associates to follow work methods in daily tasks.
• Complete observations and coaching of high-risk associates.
• Monitor equipment inspections and recommend corrective measures.
• Support site management in HSE plan implementation.
• Promote a proactive safety culture.
• Provide supervisor training on root cause analysis.
• Interface with regulators in the Safety Director’s absence.
• Assist with the annual HSE training plan.
