Job summary

Sysco is seeking an HSE/Safety Specialist to assist with implementing prevention-focused health, safety, and environmental programs across OpCo facilities. The role supports project implementation, training, and regulatory coordination to uphold Sysco’s HSE objectives.

The position emphasizes developing and sustaining safe work practices, logging training, and assisting with incident investigations while engaging employees and management in a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and/or 2 years of safety experience with OSHA certifications.
• 2+ years hands-on safety in warehousing, manufacturing or transportation operations.
• Has certification in safety and Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of safety, health & environmental programs and training.
• Maintain records for safety programs (training logs, reports, inspections).
• Inspect facilities for unsafe conditions and support investigations of incidents.
• Identify root causes and help develop corrective actions.
• Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, DOT, EPA) in the safety director’s absence.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and provide coaching on safety practices.
