The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in workplace safety and health practices and regulations, demonstrated by their certifications and experience. The role is focused on ensuring compliance and fostering a strong safety culture within the industrial sector, including oil, gas and utilities.

Documents and investigates accidents, injuries, and safety concerns to understand the root cause and recommend solutions to improve workplace safety. Inspects and audits the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance, proactively identify unsafe conditions, and implement safeguards and solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development and Regulatory Compliance – Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies while ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Perform Risk Assessment, Hazard Identification, and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections.
- Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, and Reporting – Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and identify preventive measures.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a proactive safety culture across all departments.
- Coordination with Project Teams
- Documentation and Reporting – Maintain accurate documentation and recordkeeping of safety procedures, incidents, and compliance reports.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Conduct safety training sessions and workshops.
- Perform regular safety inspection on vehicles and fire extinguishers
- Enforce FMCSA DOT Compliance
- Some travel to project sites and remote offices within the southwest region of the U.S.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
- 3 years minimum of previous experience in a safety-related role (required)
- OSHA 10 – Basic safety and health hazard awareness in construction (required)
- OSHA 30 – Comprehensive safety training for supervisors and workers with safety responsibilities in construction (required)
- OSHA 500 - Authorized to teach OSHA 10 and 30-hour courses in construction safety and health (preferred – must at least be eligible to obtain)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification – Demonstrates a solid understanding of safety principles and practices (preferred)
- Experience with safety program development and implementation.
- Experience with safety audit processes and incident investigation.
- Knowledge of hazard assessments and risk control measures.
Knowledge/ Skills /Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety regulations (OSHA & CalOSHA) and best practices.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, must be a self-starter.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record and a valid State driver's license is required.
- Subject to DOT and any client specific Drug and Alcohol testing programs.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Work is performed in both an office environment and the field.
- Field work may involve negotiating rough terrain, mountainous or desert regions, or heavy urban traffic areas.
- Work performed outside may include working in winter conditions or extreme summer heat and sun.
- Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities
- Outdoor fieldwork may include repetitive standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and walking
