Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety for employees, participants, volunteers, and customers. You will implement safety policies, coordinate inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA, TOSHA and DOT regulations.

You will develop training programs, monitor procedures, and prepare reports while maintaining confidentiality. The role requires travel to sites and a proactive approach to safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the safety of employees, participants, volunteers, customers and protects the organization by implementing safety policies and programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with OSHA, TOSHA, DOT and other regulations.
• Research, develop and implement inspection policies and schedules; conduct safety inspections and audits.
• Coordinate training on emergency procedures, workplace safety and CARF compliance.
• Monitor safety procedures and prepare inspection reports; support LP investigations.
