Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience.
  • OSHA 30, CSP/ CHST/ ASP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Description

Position Overview

The Safety Manager serves as the regional leader for all safety initiatives across the Atlanta and Nashville markets. This role is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and partnering with operational leadership to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and protect employees, clients, and company assets. The Safety Manager provides strategic leadership while maintaining a strong field presence through coaching, training, auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all safety initiatives across the Atlanta and Nashville regions, ensuring consistent implementation of company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and foster a culture of safety accountability through leadership, coaching, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Conduct routine branch, shop, fleet, and jobsite safety audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with Branch Managers, Production Managers, Account Managers, and field leadership to identify safety risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations for workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and near-miss incidents, performing root cause analysis and ensuring timely corrective action.
  • Monitor OSHA compliance and ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, defensive driving, equipment operations, heat illness prevention, and other required training.
  • Maintain all safety documentation, training records, inspection reports, and incident files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze safety trends, incident data, and audit findings to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present monthly regional safety performance reports, including key performance indicators, incident trends, corrective actions, and compliance metrics.
  • Conduct periodic fleet safety inspections and partner with branch leadership to improve vehicle safety and DOT compliance.
  • Support workers' compensation management by coordinating investigations, return-to-work programs, and communication with Human Resources and insurance partners.
  • Respond to emergency situations and significant incidents as needed, including occasional after-hours support.
  • Assist operational leadership with developing job hazard analysis (JHAs), risk assessments, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for safety-related policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Promotes continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to safety programs, equipment, and operational processes.
  • Travel regularly between Atlanta and Nashville branches to provide consistent field support, coaching, and oversight.
Requirements

  • Frequent regional travel.
