Job summary

Memphis Goodwill Industries Inc. is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect assets across the Memphis campus and distribution centers. Under the Director of Safety & Risk Management, you will manage access, conduct patrols, respond to alarms, and document incidents.

The role requires at least 1 year in security or related fields, strong communication, and ability to work weekends or overnight shifts; familiarity with CCTV, incident reporting, and warehouse environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in security service, asset protection, audit, risk management, or related field.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel.
• Flexible to work weekends and overnight shifts as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with off-site supervision.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Analytical with performance-driven, results-oriented mindset.
• Able to walk up to 5 miles daily and lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate security screening of all people entering and exiting the facility.
• Manage key and badge requests for LP leadership or supervisor.
• Assign access to individuals and groups with proper approval.
• Escalate critical incidents to business partners (LP leadership, Operations, HR, Safety).
• Maintain access controls and security tools (keys, badges, etc.).
• Respond to alarms and security/safety incidents as directed.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols to deter theft or unsafe behavior.
• Utilize CCTV to gather facts for investigations.
• Prepare and submit security/safety reports as directed.
• Perform audits to ensure physical standards and address non-conformities.
• Assist investigations of theft or fraud and interview when appropriate.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate security processes and initiatives.
