Job summary

OBE is seeking a Safety Specialist to coordinate environmental, health and safety activities across manufacturing and distribution facilities. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with EPA, OSHA and internal safety programs while mentoring facility teams to improve safety performance.

• Ability to read and interpret OSHA 1910 standards
• Ability to relate to management and shop floor employees
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Regular and predictable attendance and adherence to safety policies are essential

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor facility teams to implement health, safety, environmental, and loss prevention programs
• Evaluate operations and equipment for compliance; provide coaching and training to employees on safety programs
• Conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, drive action plans to meet targets; conduct inspections and audits
• Prepare reports including incident documentation, regulatory submissions, audit findings, metrics, and corrective actions
• Investigate, resolve, and coordinate incidents and employee care related to safety
• Provide guidance to facility leadership on safe operation and maintain safety documentation
